A. General Guidelines and Expectations:
Do not get involved with or do anything that would ever embarrass the players or coaches of this football team. This includes non-school hours. Everything you do reflects on our school and our program. Any violation of this rule can result in suspension or expulsion from the team.
- Loyalty-You are expected to be loyal to your teammates and coaches.
- Pride - You are held to a higher set of standards because you play football.
- Character - Do the right thing, show strong morals and values in all that you do.
- Class - Show it in all that you do (home, work, school, and football).
- Respect and Discipline - Believe that all decisions made by your coaches are for the good of the team.
- Positive Attitude - Constantly compliment your teammates; it wears off on all of us!!
- Sacrifice - The team always comes before the individual. Do not allow yourself to be selfish.
- Effort - Regardless of your ability, you can always give 100% to this team. Effort is one area in which no slack will be given. This is one demand that will not be compromised by fellow players or our coaches.
- Every player is important; however the team will always come first!
- All players are subject to all rules.
B. Specific Areas:
- Classroom: Conduct yourself as a gentleman and show respect to your teachers. We will always be students first and athletes second. So, do the right thing and always demonstrate appropriate behavior. We will show everyone that we are first class people!!
- On the Field: We will celebrate as a group!! I love emotion; we will play with great emotion and we can show emotion, but we will do it as a group. We will not tolerate taunting, fighting, pushing, swearing, etc…
- Eligibility: Stay Eligible!! Academics come first!! If you need help we will get it for you. You will be held accountable for your grades with weekly grade checks.
- Practice
- Be 10-15 minutes early to all meeting, practices, bus times or team functions.
- Make every effort to be at practice.
- If you are absent, you must call Coach Reiboldt before practice begins.
| 1st unexcused absence - | Reduced playing time (1 quarter) |
| 2nd unexcused absence - | Reduced playing time (1 half) |
| 3rd unexcused absence - | 1-Game Suspension |
| 4th unexcused absence - | Dismissal |
- Tardiness (unexcused) will equal one-half of an absence.
- If you are injured and you cannot practice, you still need to come to practice and go with your position coach to listen and learn.
- Report all injuries to the coach or trainer!!!
- All missed practices need to be made up. Make-ups will be conditioning or football related.
- All called-in absences are excused. All non called-in absences are unexcused.
- This is our home away from home. We will work hard to make it as nice as possible. We will respect it!! Pick up trash, paper, weights, weight belts, clothes, etc… Never leave the locker room before cleaning up.
- Equipment: Each of you will be responsible for all equipment checked out to you. You must pay for all lost or stolen gear. Equipment left out can be redeemed for a Brave Reminder.
C. Personal Conduct
- Take an active role in your classes. Sit in the front of the class and participate!!
- Develop people skills. Always be positive and encourage others.
- Set goals and work to achieve them. Goal setting is a life-long necessity.
- Be competitive! Never back down from a challenge!
- Take responsibility for something. If you do your absolute best, you won’t have to second-guess yourself, no matter what the outcome.
- Stand up for teammates. Rally around the efforts of your teammates on the playing field and in the classroom.
- Play like Champions. Regardless of the outcome, play every minute as it were you’re last.
D. Little Things Make a Difference
- We will take pride in the fact that when our coaches are speaking we will give them eye contact and our full attention because we want to learn we want to be successful.
- We will run from drill to drill from sideline to sideline, we will be the best condition team in the league and we will sprint everywhere we go!
- We have an open door policy, your problems are our problems and we are all in this together! Communicate, communicate!
- We will emphasize the use of respectful tones when talking to adults.
